The following is a copy of our stud service contract. This will be completed when you bring your female for stud service. It is made available online for you to review before the stud service takes place. YOU DO NOT NEED TO PRINT THIS OUT AHEAD OF TIME UNLESS DIRECTLY ASKED TO DO SO BY THE BREEDER.

The fee for the stud service must be paid at the time of service in the amount of $______________, OR terms as follows:

The owner of the bitch identified above agrees that the stud owner must have the puppy of the stud owner’s choice in the stud owner’s possession, as payment for stud service, before the stud owner will sign the AKC litter registration application.

NOTE: The American Kennel Club takes the position that the owner of the sire is required to sign  an application to register a litter certifying only to the fact that a particular dam was bred to the sire identified on the Litter Registration Application form on a specified date of mating, unless there is an agreement signed by all parties concerned in which it specifically set forth that the owner of the sire is not obligated to sign an American Kennel Club litter registration application form until such time as the stud fee has been paid.

The owner of the bitch warrants that this bitch has not been exposed to any stud dog prior to her arrival and that she will be protected from such exposure after her return home.

The stud owner will breed the stud dog to the bitch at least twice but preferably three times with a minimum of 24 hours between breedings.

If two or more live puppies do not result from this breeding, the bitch owner has two (2) options:

A second stud service is available to the bitch at a later heat cycle, by the same stud dog, free of charge. OR

The stud service fee will be fully refunded to the bitch owner.

There is no charge for boarding the bitch for the first seven days, after which the charge will be $________ per day. During this time the bitch will be fed, watered, exercised, and cared for daily by the stud owner. The stud owner agrees to keep the bitch confined and inaccessible to all other male dogs until the bitch has been bred and returned to her owner.

OR the bitch may be brought to the home of the stud owner daily for breeding purposes and then return home with the bitch owner each day.

The bitch owner hereby agrees that his or her bitch is cared for and handled by the stud owner without liability on the stud owner’s part for loss or damage to the bitch from accidents, injury, disease, theft, fire, or other unavoidable causes or injury to persons, other animals, or damage to property caused by the bitch when due diligence and care have been exercised by the stud owner.

If the need arises, the stud owner will provide veterinary care for the bitch. Except in an emergency, when the bitch owner cannot be contacted, the stud owner will consult with the bitch owner prior to any veterinary intervention. The bitch owner will reimburse the stud owner for any such veterinary expenses.

To insure the owner(s) of the bitch has read and does indeed understand the conditions of this contract as set forth herein, please sign and date below. DO NOT SIGN IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND THIS STUD SERVICE CONTRACT.
